On Friday, October 30, Juliette Low held Book-A-Ween! Students, staff, and parents dressed as a character from one of their favorite books to celebrate both Halloween and the culmination of Red Ribbon Week, when we pledge to say NO to drugs and YES to anti-drugs such as reading. Kindergarten teachers dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz; second grade teachers dressed as Pete the Cat; fifth grade teachers were Harry Potter characters, and sixth grade teachers represented The Three Little Pigs. The office, support, and cafeteria staff dressed as various colored crayons from the book, The Day the Crayons Quit. Participants displayed their costumes and books in a parade that was held during the weekly spirit rally.

Following the spirit rally, kindergarten students recited poems to their parents. Parents then joined students in their classrooms for an hour of reading enjoyment together.
