Glimmers of Broadway graced the Juliette Low stage as third through sixth grade actors performed in an original musical, “Bah, Humbug, Charlie Brown!” The comedy, written by second grade teacher Sherrie Todorovic and District TOSA Christina Fink-Manfre, explores the impact Charlie Brown’s Ghost of Christmas Past (young Charlie Brown), Ghost of Christmas Present (Michael Jackson), and Ghost of Christmas Future (Darth Vader) have on his outlook on life and ultimate happiness. The musical was performed on 7 occasions for other schools in the Magnolia School District, as well as Board Members Barbara Quintana, Esther Wallace, and Barbara Clendening; Superintendent, Dr. Frank Donavan; Assistant Superintendents Hanan Thornton and Annette Cleveland; Executive Directors Chad Hammitt and Lynda Wambaugh; parents; and community members.

Auditions were held in September, and student actors diligently participated in rehearsals 3 to 4 days per week until the first performance. The hard work and dedication of the students resulted in solid performances by the cast of 40 students. This theatrical experience is possible due to the commitment of a dynamic group of Juliette Low teachers: Sandy Jackson, Thuan Mai, Patti Park, Melissa Brakefield, Missy Hillon, Sherrie Todorovic, and Sonja Fehlmann.
