On October 24, 2015, Chapman University Women’s Softball Team, 1995 NCAA (III) was inducted to the Chapman Athletic Hall of Fame! New Hall of Fame inductee and MSD employee, Eddeane Sims (Casares), was an integral member of that outstanding 1995 championship team. During that very exciting championship year, players embraced a team first attitude and took each game one pitch and one run at a time. Their tight bond led to the softball program’s first national championship with a 43-5 record!

Prior to the induction ceremony, the team coach held a special get-together for the inductees. Team members received a 1995 jersey, a Chapman Softball Alumni t-shirt, a softball, and a Chapman Alumni license plate frame. The evening culminated with everyone joining in for the team’s signature pregame move - line dancing.

The celebratory event took place at the Sandhu Conference Center on the beautiful Chapman campus with more than 250 individuals in attendance. Following a terrific dinner, the team took to the field during half time and was introduced as the Chapman Athletic Hall of Fame’s newest inductees. The unveiling ceremony immediately followed. Eddeane Sims shared that winning the Division title was a memory in itself and no one imagined themselves 20 years later getting inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Team members were humbled by the experience. Congratulations, Eddeane!
