State Assessment Information For Parents

Each year, students in Magnolia participate in statewide assessments to provide information about their skills in English-language arts, mathematics, science, physical fitness, and English language development. These assessments provide teachers, students, and parents with information on student's academic progress each year. Click on the links below to view more information about each assessment.

Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC)

An online English language arts and mathematics assessment administered to all students in grades 3-6 during May of 2017. Score reports for the assessment will be mailed to the student's home in August.


California Science Test (CAST)

This year students in Grade 5 will field test a new online science test during the first week of May. Students will not receive scores for the assessment this year.


Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

During May of 2017 all 4th-6th grade students in Magnolia will participate in Physical Fitness testing. Results for 5th grade students will be submitted to the state for official district results.


California English Language Development Test (CELDT)

Students in kindergarten through 6th grade, whose home language is not English, participate in the CELDT assessment every fall to measure their proficiency in the English language.
