Students in kindergarten through grade twelve, whose home language is not English, are required to participate in the CELDT to assess their English proficiency. The CELDT allows schools to identify students who need to improve their skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. Magnolia administers this assessment each year between August and October, and parents usually receive the results in January. In Magnolia, students in grades fourth, fifth, and sixth participate in Physical Fitness testing, however, only the results for fifth grade are reported to the state. The test has six parts that show students' level of fitness in a variety of areas.
