Students, staff, and parents celebrated Read Across America Day on March 3, 2017.  Although Read Across America was on March 3rd, students were given the opportunity to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday all week with fun activities planned for each day.

On Monday, students and staff wore mismatched shoes and socks and read The Foot Book. On Tuesday, students and staff wore green and read Green Eggs and Ham.  Wednesday was a day for students and staff to wear hats and read Cat in the Hat.  Thursday was designated for Oh the Places You’ll Go with students and staff wearing t-shirts with their favorite vacation spot or a college t-shirt.  On Friday, students and staff wore their pajamas and were visited by several guest readers. The guest readers included Dr. Donavan, Superintendent of Magnolia School District; Bill Bailey, Executive Director of Student Services; Andrea Howser, District TOSA; Two police officers from the City of Anaheim; and Daniel Olea.  Also on Friday, students used their “Seuss Bucks” to be entered into a raffle for free books.  The school gave away over 200 books during the weekly BARK assembly.  It was a great way to end a week of celebrating Dr. Seuss and reading!
