Superintendent Updates

Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of greatly expanding our Expanded Learning Program options. We have afterschool and summer school programs available for many students this year. For the 2022-23 school year we will have afterschool and summer school options available for all of our students. In partnership with the City of Anaheim, we will continue to have the STARS Program at Maxwell. Our Anaheim Achieves Program will become our Boys and Girls Club Program after June 17, 2022 and it will be available at all of our schools. We currently have additional Boys and Girls Club Programs at Marshall, Maxwell, Pyles, Salk and Schweitzer. In order to accommodate more students, we have opened up our own Magnolia School District Expanded Learning Program at Baden Powell, Disney, Pyles and Walter. This program will expand to six schools this summer and then all nine schools for the 2022-23 school year.

This summer we will have comprehensive summer school options. Our Summer Academy will consist of our 3rd Grade Summer STEM Program, Long Term English Learner Program and Extended School Year Program.  We will also have our Boys and Girls Club Program and our Magnolia School District Expanded Learning Program. All students are eligible for either our Boys and Girls Club Program or our Expanded Learning Program, and students participating in our Summer Academy can also participate in our Boys and Girls Club and/or Expanded Learning Program. All of our summer programs will provide academic enrichment and support as well as fun and engaging recreational activities.

We are pleased to announce that all of our afterschool and summer programs will be free of charge to our students and there will be no program fees or costs of any kind. If you would like more information on any of these programs, please be sure to visit the Expanded Learning Program page or contact your child’s school for more information.

Sincerely,
Frank Donavan, Ed.D.,
Superintendent
