Assessment & Accountability

Each year, students in Magnolia participate in statewide assessments to provide information about their skills in English-language arts, mathematics, science, physical fitness, and English language development. These assessments provide teachers, students, and parents with information on student's academic progress each year. Click on the links below to view more information about each assessment.

Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC)

Online English Language Arts and Mathematics Assessments administered to all students in grades 3-6 during the month of May.  Score Reports for the assessments will be mailed to 6th Grade student homes in August.  Parents can access Grades 3-5 Score Reports on the Parent Portal. 

California Science Test (CAST)

Students in Grade 5 will take the CAST Test in May.  Score reports for the assessments can be accessed on the Parent Portal in August. 
 

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

During the month of May, all 4th-6th-grade students in Magnolia participate in Physical Fitness testing. Results for 5th-grade students will be submitted to the state for official district results.

English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC)

Students in kindergarten through 6th grade, whose home language is not English, participate in the ELPAC assessment every spring to measure their proficiency in the English language.
