Expanded Learning Program Overview

After School Program

ChampsMagnolia School District’s Expanded Learning Program (ELP) provides free child care to eligible students in TK - 6th grade. The program runs after the school day, during spring and summer breaks. The Expanded Learning child care program is not part of the required school day and does not have the same requirements as the regular school day. The focus is on academic, social-emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through CHAMPS. The components of C.H.A.M.P.S include activities around Character, Health, Academics, Mindfulness, Performances and Arts, and STEM.

 

Expanded Learning - Spring Break

Spring Break LogoThe Expanded Learning Program will be offering a fun and engaging way for students to spend their break. The program is open to all students and will be available from 7:30am - 5:30pm. The location of Spring Break will be announced each year prior to registration. No transportation is offered during Spring Break.

 

Summer Programs

Summer Academy

  • The Expanded Learning Program will be offered during the summer break for all students who will be attending K-6th grade for the next school year. The components of C.H.A.M.P.S, Character, Health, Academics, Mindfulness, Performances and Arts, and STEM will be incorporated in engaging and interactive activities from June - August. There is no charge for the program and breakfast, lunch, supper and snack are provided at no cost.
  • Summer Academy is a unique summer program for all students who will be in K-6th grade for the upcoming school year. The program taught by Magnolia School District teachers provides 4 weeks of targeted instruction in reading, math, interactive STEM activities and engaging assemblies. There is no charge for the program and breakfast and lunch are provided at no cost.
  • The Extended School Year Program will be provided for special education students as recommended per each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), preschool through grade 5. This program is by invitation only as determined by the student’s IEP.
