The ceremony featured inspiring speeches from school leaders and student representatives, along with heartfelt moments as each student was recognized on stage. Students were commended for their academic achievements, leadership, and resilience, especially in adapting to new learning experiences through the school’s rigorous STEM program.
Magnolia School District Superintendent Dr. Donavan and School Board Member Patricia Soave were in attendance to celebrate this special occasion and personally congratulate the students and families.
Dr. Donavan addressed the students, speaking about their many achievements and the importance of continuing their education. He encouraged them to embrace new opportunities, reminding them that education is the key to unlocking their potential and shaping a bright future.
The event was especially meaningful this year as it also marked the final Promotion Ceremony for Principal Dawn Bakker, who will be retiring at the end of this school year after 25 years of dedicated service to the Magnolia School District. In a touching tribute, each 6th grade student presented Principal Bakker with a rose as a token of gratitude and admiration for her leadership, care, and lasting impact on the school community.
Principal Dawn Bakker congratulated the students, saying, “You are well prepared for the exciting journey ahead in middle school and beyond. We are proud of all you have accomplished here at Pyles and know that you will continue to achieve great things.”
Families cheered and celebrated as students received their promotion certificates. Many took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the dedicated teachers and staff who supported their children throughout their elementary education.
The Robert M. Pyles STEM Academy community wishes the entire 6th grade class continued success in their next chapter. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
