School teams competed head-to-head in a series of exciting matches. Students demonstrated not only their gaming skills, but also teamwork, communication, and problem-solving as they advanced through the competition rounds. The bracket format created an exciting atmosphere as participants and parents cheered on teammates and celebrated each round of play.
Even though this was a competition, one of the main components was good sportsmanship. Students were encouraged to demonstrate respect, kindness, and positive attitudes throughout the day by cheering for others, showing perseverance, and congratulating fellow competitors. The event highlighted how esports can build collaboration, school pride, and valuable character skills while creating memorable experiences for students.
A big thank you to Mr. Eric Garwick and Ms. Ashton Fontyn, the two teachers at Pyles who developed, organized and ran this successful event, and Ms. Katherine Smith-Brooks, Principal at Robert M. Pyles STEM Academy who made sure the event ran smoothly.
