America’s Healthiest Schools recognizes K–12 schools across the country for their commitment to advancing whole child health. In 2026, 1,377 schools nationwide received recognition. The annual award program recognizes schools for implementing evidence-based policies and practices designed to support academic success and lifelong well-being.
The Supporting School Health Services category recognizes school teams that routinely conduct health screenings, address chronic health conditions, and provide pathways for students with health concerns to receive additional support from the school or community-based providers.
Across Magnolia School District, schools work collaboratively with families and community healthcare partners to ensure students have access to the health supports they need to thrive. Partnerships with organizations such as Serve the People Community Health Center, Healthy Smiles, AltaMed, and CHOC Children’s Hospital help provide or connect students with vision care and free eyeglasses, dental referrals, behavioral and mental health services, pediatric healthcare, and other essential resources.
Schools also coordinate individualized health plans and accommodations for students with specialized needs, and bilingual communication to help families understand health screenings and follow-up care. Together, these partnerships and school-based supports help reduce barriers to care while promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students throughout the District.
We are especially proud that this recognition includes every Magnolia school and celebrates the collective work happening across our District to support student health, remove barriers to care, and connect families with needed resources. Through the coordinated efforts of school teams, health staff, educators, families, special education staff, and community partners, all nine Magnolia schools earned recognition as 2026 America’s Healthiest Schools.
