Over the past six years the Leader in Me program at Dr. Albert Schweitzer Leadership Academy has made leadership an integral part of everyday learning. Students set academic and personal goals, monitor their progress in leadership notebooks, and lead conferences. These experiences help students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and take ownership of their education.
Leadership opportunities extend across campus through classroom responsibilities, service-learning projects, and the Student Lighthouse Team, which gives students a voice in school leadership. A Leadership Day designed entirely by students allows them to share their learning and demonstrate their skills with their parents and guardians, staff members, community partners, visiting dignitaries and the Board of Trustees. Every student has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and discover their strengths.
The Orange County Impact Schools Award highlights well-designed programs that show clear evidence of innovative programs that are thoughtfully executed, sustainable over time, and aligned to county strategic priorities. This prestigious recognition honors the entire school community for collectively advancing student learning, well-being, and readiness for college, career, and life.
Congratulations to all the students and staff of Dr. Albert Schweitzer Leadership Academy on this well-deserved recognition!
