Juliette Low School of the Arts was recognized in the Curriculum and Instruction category for its commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences that increase student engagement and support student success. For the past ten years the Piano Lab and Integrated Music Program provides students with access to high-quality music education as part of their regular school day. Students participate in standards-based piano and music instruction and digital music composition and production.
Through these experiences, students develop creativity, confidence, perseverance, collaboration, and self-expression while discovering their individual talents and strengthening their connection to school.
Superintendent Dr. Frank Donavan launched the Piano Lab through an initial partnership with the Lang Lang International Music Foundation’s Keys of Inspiration program. Since then, the program has grown into a sustainable, schoolwide model supported by the Magnolia School District Board of Trustees, including continued investment in music teachers and more than 30 commercial-grade Roland keyboards.
Congratulations to the students, staff, and entire Juliette Low School of the Arts community on this outstanding recognition!
