Walter Student's Design Comes to Life Friday, February 23rd, 2018 was a memorable day for Walter School’s 6th-grade student Jazmine Alvarado. Jazmine is this year’s winner of the “Design a Ford” contest. The contest is a partnership between OC GRIP and Ford Motor Company where students get to design the color scheme for the OC Grip Vehicle. Jazmine’s design was picked among over 140 entries across 14 Orange County Schools. Published April 9, 2018
Magnolia School District Generates Sustainable Energy for Student Success In January 2017, Magnolia Superintendent Dr. Frank Donavan and the Board of Trustees recommended moving the District in a renewable energy, greener direction. The District partnered with ENGIE, formerly known as OpTerra Energy Services. As a result of this partnership, a comprehensive energy plan was developed that will generate $14.1 million dollars in net savings for the District over the next 30 years. Published April 9, 2018
Magnolia Students Participate in Annual Spelling Bee Eighteen outstanding scholars from all nine District schools participated in the annual Magnolia School District Spelling Bee took place on Wednesday, January 31. The two top spellers from each school participated in this exciting competition at the Juliette Low School of the Arts, coordinated by Principal Dr. Debra Von Sprecken. Published April 9, 2018
